1. The carpets in the hotel are dirty, probably from cheaper vacuums or vacuums that are not being emptied frequently.

3. On the last day we got the continental breakfast at the hotel for $18, and it wound up being not only delicious but cheaper than most other places, in part because they did not charge for our son's breakfast, which was very nice.

6. Parking rates here are as exorbitant as at the Mark Hopkins, but here there is a parking lot across the street which is much cheaper, but it has no in and out possibilities at night.

7. I do wish luxury hotels would join all of the much cheaper hotels in offering free wi-fi, but there is free wi-fi a block away inside the shopping mall, so it is not a big deal.

The room gave us access to the club lounge with free wifi, a couple of PCs and a printer and a steady supply of food and drink on tap; we subsequently discovered from some of my husband's colleagues our room actually worked out a lot cheaper than booking at the regular rate and then paying for internet access and getting breakfast in the restaurant downstairs.
