1. A think it's a little too far south on Michigan Avenue but having said that, taxis are plentiful, frequent and inexpensive.

2. Plan to walk several blocks to get to the heart of the shopping area along the miracle mile, but there is plenty near this hotel to keep you busy as well: parks, the Chicago Art Institute, intriguing smaller shops and restaurants are all nearby.
