1. I wondered if this was maybe normal in hotels this time of year so I called three hotels close by, the Westin, the Sheratin and a Comfort Inn and all three said their AC is on and working in their rooms.

2. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, (the man that stored baggage was wonderful) but most of the staff tended to look right through you.

3. When my teen age daughter came down with the flu (spoiling much of our NYC planned fun) the staff was wonderful, suggesting the best drug stores locally for different things, bringing up extra comforters (as her fever had her shivering) and one of the maids suggested a doctor who was nearby, which thankfully, we didnt' need.
