1. Furniture is chipping away, sofabeds (I've tried two) don't work, despite the best efforts of hotel service guy, both carpets and walls do look like they had not been updated for 70-odd years.

2. Also everyday we would go down to the reception desk and ask for different information on the nearest shops , where to go for meals and the best attractions and they was SO helpful it was unreal.

3. First let me share that I've taken MANY trips to NYC for business and stayed in some of the BEST hotels (at my employers expense), and I feel confident recommending this hotel to travels who aren't on an unlimited expense account.

4. If you do not manage to get a good upper room (19th would be the best) then try spending your time at the restaurant.
