1. I don't generally like to moan about hotels but I thought this was just an average hotel with below average rooms with a posh looking lobby.

2. The air conditioner worked great, which was a blessing in the hot summer week we went, but the unit is old and very loud, sounded like a freight train.

3. We needn't have worried, The room we had was more like a junior suite (835) with a large bed, a seating area with sofa, microwave and fridge, 2 TV's.

4. If you are like me, I would recommend staying at the Waldorf Astoria where it's similar in rate but superior in guest service.

8. If you are like most people staying at a hotel in NY, you are either out hitting shows at night as a tourist or shmoozing customers at a restaurant for business travelers so the TV isn't on much.

9. The desk clerk protested at first saying he had no more rooms - then like magic, he made a phone call and moved us to what turned out to be a much nicer & more spacious corner room.

10. Bathroom was unimpressive--serviceable, but small, with an old shower head (plenty of mirrors--I did like that the mirror on the back of the bathroom wall made it possible to see the back of my head).
