1. I was surprised at some of the negative comments here as we stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and found it to be perfect - reception staff were friendly and efficient and there was plenty of information available in the hotel.

6. The check-in process went smoothly (we booked through Priceline and received an excellent rate), we were upgraded to a room with a king bed, the room was clean, the staff was knowledgeable and accommodating, the valet parking was efficient, the lobby was beautiful and check-out was quick.

Pros:-Good Value-Good Location (mid town, walking distance to Grand Central Station)-Beautiful lobby -Front desk staff was efficient and friendlyCons:-Bell hops were unsatisfactory (long wait, made to carry baggage to be stored and still expected tip, took forever to hail cab even though one was ready)-Rooms are nothing special, small space, nice linens but carpet, walls, and tiling in rooms could use updating.

9. The room had styrofoam cups instead of glasses--styrofoam cups? Really? If I had a coffee maker, I'd understand, but what if I want to have some wine? They can't have glasses in the rooms?The lampshades weren't big enough to cover the energy-efficient flourescent light bulbs, so we had glare in our eyes- until we'd turn them off (then it was too dark).
