Room rates were about middle of the road -- I've booked rooms of the same quality for less in the city -- but for some reason room rates this weekend were running high and by the time our weekend arrived, rates for rooms at the same hotel were double what we booked at -- so, something must have been going in the area driving up the rates as everyone knows can happen with NYC hotels.
