1. We actually like it better than the Fairmont Kea Lani on Maui.

2. I definitely recommend renting a car while staying in Hawaii to better enjoy all the island has to offer, but you could walk to the Black Sands beach and Foodland Farms if you really wanted to.

3. A better beach for snorkeling is the Black Sands Beach at 49 Black Sands Drive near the hieroglyphic park.

4. There was carpeting on the floor that has seen better days, and the furniture needs replacing.

5. would be a tad better as these rooms do not have the cement column separating the rooms (they are every other room) and therefore don't have an obstruction.

7. While Kauai is a more beautiful island, if you are looking for a totally relaxing experience with more stable weather, I don't think you can do better than the Kona side oef the Big Island, and we would return here in a heartbeat based on the atmosphere and accommodations.

8. However, with that note, because of the humidity, the hotel rooms may tend to get a slight smell sometime and the hotel can do a better job in masking the smell.
