1. The location is easy walking distance to most sights and scenes and restaurants in the French Quarter - 10 minutes south- but a nice distance away to avoid reveling foot and car traffic.

3. We also didn't use the restaurant as there is so much fantastic choice nearby and we avoid hotel food wherever possible but the bar was welcoming and reasonably priced on the one occasion we used it and it always looked inviting.

6. Once there, I was very happy that the hotel was far enough from Burbon Street to avoid all the traffic & noise but within walking distance of it, numerous good restaurants, and some shopping.

We used to live in New Orleans and came back for a small family reunion; we usually avoided the Quarter because it was too expensive and basically not worth it; but this time we wanted to have the 'experience' and found the Maison Dupuy which gave us a great rate and 1/2 the daily parking fee (look for the deals); the room was small but nice and the bed was really great; the hotel ambiance was perfect and the staff made us feel welcome and provided everything we needed; the pool area was also really nice (especially for N.
