Now for the negatives: Expensive valet parking 40 dollars a day, advised by waitress on first day not to leave hotel as many roads adjacent to hotel lead to Skid Row or other dangerous areas, Location is downtown LA financial district so restaurants and bars are a fair distant between them, Bar a tad expensive and formal, overpriced internet charges, rooms a little outdated and in need of a make over.

4. This old hotel has a beautiful lobby and common areas but the rooms are outdated, grimey, have paper thin walls and are not pleasant to spend time in.

7. A previous reviewer called this hotel "outdated" when what they didn't seem to grasp is that this hotel is one of the oldest hotels in the city and is about as grand in terms of stunning architecture as you'll find.
