I have stayed at this Hotel 3 or 4 times, I always thought it was
overpriced
but it is close to the Garden and therefore convenient for Celtics games.

Having stayed at numerous hotels in Boston, I believe that the Onyx is
overpriced
for the size of the rooms and lack of a separate restaurant from the bar.

A few tips: One way to avoid the tempting but seriously
overpriced
goodies in the mini-bar is to shop at the 7 Eleven half a block away on Causeway Street.
