1. The lobby can get a bit cramped when many people are checking out around the same time, but that's not a huge issue.

2. We recently stayed 2 nights over a weekend at the Onyx, and were pleased with the hotel amenities: bed was very comfy, room was not cramped (one expects relatively small rooms in the heart of the city), bathroom nicely appointed, and morning coffee in the lobby was a nice touch.

The room is not child friendly at all, from the cramped layout, to the slippery and hard bathroom floors, the glass that sticks out on top of the night tables and my least favorite of all the drawers with sharp edges that children love to pull out and go through, such as the honor bar drawer with all sorts of candy placed in front that my daughter kept trying to get at all weekend.
