1. Bottom Line: This is a dated hotel (accurately described in terms of comforts in the previous posts) that operates like a parking garage.

3. Our room, 7072 was on the top floor of the original building which probably dates to the 1970s.

4. However, after my meeting I moved a few blocks down the road to the Clift hotel, where for $250/nt I did get limited free internet, a much larger, brighter and quieter room, friendly concierge service, and a definite style (not mine particularly, but at least it was up to date and not generic).

5. The rooms are gloomy, dated and noisy (at least mine was - suggest to avoid rooms on the 'low rise elevator' floors - I was on 7th floor with view of ugly utilitarian rooftop/courtyard, and garbage trucks that made nightly pickups at 3:30 am, complete with lots of noise (woke me even with earplugs).

6. Secondly, the hotel was old and dated, too big and loud and had a constant dance club mix playing in the lobby.
