4. Due to the structure of the hotel, the rooms are all very near the elevator, which seems to run a little slow, so people will stand there and speak at regular to loud voices and can easily be heard from almost all the rooms.

6. Elevators were fast, but the maids' carts weren't on every floor (narrow building - no storage) and they slowed elevator service a bit when they went to work or moved from floor to floor.
