1. The hot tub with the peeling paint is heated by the air temperature whatever it is that day, the fitness center was closed because of the leaky roof.

Water stains on all ceilings; visible mold everywhere; wallpaper peeling off; drywall patch jobs that were never painted; ripped carpets; stained carpets; lights in room that don't work; outlets in room that don't work; a room a/c unit that worked but leaked so much water that the carpet was soaking wet; a supposedly nice view of the ocean but could not see due to white, salt-water filmed windows; a tv with no ESPN (world cup time) where every other channel was fuzzy and unwatchable; a double-bed that was less comfortable than the one I slept on in summer camp in the '80s; a shower that had a fixed glass panel on only half of the shower with no shower curtain so you had to huddle right up the the showerhead least you'd flood the bathroom floor.

Our room had a lovely view, but had cracked/peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling, mismatched fixtures, a shower curtain with tootpaste on it, a paint job that looked like it was done by a drunk, dirty carpet, no washcloths, no bedspreads, no pen, no paper, no information about hotel facilities, etc.
