1. Give the hotel itself 3 stars due to inability to enjoy the pool and lack of Hawaiian feel since that's why we go to Hawaii.
"Hotel lacked Hawaiian feel but Club Lounge was great! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   5/11/2012 Vote
2. We ate at the Sushi restaurant which was OK, nothing special, and one of the few places there to seriously lack in the service dept, The Banyan Tree which again was just kind of OK with an overwhelming price tag but service was great, The Terrace Restaurant which was standard fare, and room service which was good to good +.
"incredible staff for the most part and away from it all " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/6/2012 Vote
3. While the rooms lacked charm, the hotel's secluded location (note Kapalua is significantly windier than other areas onn Maui), service, stunning views of the ocean, and layout of the pool and grounds more than made up for it, and made our stay a worthwhile one.
"Nice Stay. " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/18/2012 Vote
4. Kapalua's weather is not quite as good as Wilea, but the wide open spaces and lack of crowding, and the huge resort property, made us feel we made the right decision.
"Paradise with local flavor, excellent food and service " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/5/2012 Vote
5. A lovely place to watch the sunrise in the morning while we drank our coffee (which they do need to improve on-in room coffee service lacked RItz quality) and watch the sunset at night.
"Romantic escape in paradise... " Read full review on TripAdvisor   12/22/2011 Vote
6. If we were with our children we would choose a different location due to lack of creative pool areas and kid centered activities.

8. There was a lack of service that was noticeable.
"Slipping " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/20/2011 Vote
9. Most notable, was the lack of training by the employees.
"Slipping " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/20/2011 Vote
10. I've read complaints about the lack of chaise lounges on the actual beach - but the beach itself is a state park as is most of Maui's shoreline.
"Great for Active Travelers " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/14/2011 Vote
