1. I especially liked swimming and snorkeling at Waimea Bay (and diving off the big rock), staying for the sunset, and then grabbing a less-expensive dinner at a local seafood restaurant on the way back to the Ilikai.
"Ilikai for 2-week business trip " Read full review on TripAdvisor   2/2/2012 Vote
2. The unit is modern, quiet, has a wonderful view of the ocean and Ala Wai Marina, and the lanai has two very comfortable rocking chairs.
"Excellent Condo " Read full review on TripAdvisor   12/28/2011 Vote
3. We like to walk, so the walk to the beach was 5 to 10 mins depending on what piece of the beach appealed to us, we looked for the sandiest entrance to the water, cause there is rocks and coral just in front of the logoon side of the hilton (bring water shoes, cause that is a nice beach otherwise, water was very warm there) If you sit in front of the Hale Loa hotel the beach is fine for bare feet.
"Great Location, great walks " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/23/2011 Vote
4. The building has a beautiful but small walk up entrance with rock waterfall on either side of center staircase up to large beautiful dolphin sculpture.

5. The Ocean was absolutely beautiful and warm, but I do recommend walking down abit to avoid alot of rocks in the sand in the ocean.
"Hawaii is a must see....Amazing!! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/31/2010 Vote
6. The sand turns to small rocks about 5 feet into the water but for the most part the beach is protected by reefs making the surf next to the beach minimal.
"IlikaiI would recommend it to a friend " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/5/2008 Vote
7. Waves are a little stronger and lots of rocks in the sand- ouch.

8. The rooms larger than most and very comftable bed with a ton of pillows not rock hard but down filled, a livingroom with chairs, table and couch, a breakfast bar and stools, a balcony with table and chairs.

9. Once you reach the nearest beachfront area, you won't be able to go into the ocean unless you're wearing shoes because of the coral and lava rocks.
