1. avoid this hotel - I paid for a deluxe room with view - the carpet was stained and dirty - the room and bathroom were small - the road noise was shocking with roadworks all night even though I was on the 9th floor - there is no street access so you need to get your luggage up a fairly long flight of stairs to get to reception.

2. You are at the start of Waikiki Beach and you can still avoid all the local tourist traffic associated with Waikiki.

4. The Equus is conveniently located on Ala Moana Bld which means that it is far enough away from the tourist centre so as to avoid crowds but close enough to walk there.
