1. Being car-free was not a problem because of the frequent shuttle that runs along the beach road (it costs only 25 cents but be sure to ask for a transfer when you get on if you want to take the shuttle that goes up State Street).

One block across from a very nice beach, only a few blocks from the Santa Barbara Zoo, close proximity to Milpas Street for supermarkets & ethnic eateries, and convenient stops for the 25 cent electric shuttle which takes you to Stearn`s Wharf, the harbor, and State Street the downtown center of all the action in Santa Barbara.

3. A block and a half away is the bus stop for the $0.25 shuttle that takes you up and down the waterfront to State Street.

4. -Frank is a genuinely nice person and an accomodating property manager who wants his guests to be comfortable-free parking, wifi, breakfast-laundry on site-close walk to the beach-great valueThe negatives:-the bathroom in our room was carpeted and there was no fan!(This was a huge turn-off) -no air conditioning-bed was too springy-location was quite a walk to State St, although there was an inexpensive shuttle availableAlthough it is obvious there has been an extensive renovation on this property, it seemed mostly cosmetic.

5. The walk to town is about 25 minutes, and in the off season the shuttles stop at 6pm, so the taxi costs can add up if the walk is too long for you.
