My room was enormous with a lovely grey and red marble
bath
.

Bed was super-comfy and the room included
bath
robes, an iron and ironing board, and nice toiletries.

While nice, I expected a slightly more luxurious
bath
for the price of the Gold Signature accommodations, but it was still nice.

The first warning sign was a collection of long hairs left by a previous guest on the
bath
mat.

The sleeping room was more than satisfactory: very good furnishings and window treatments, comfortable bed, and the newly remodeled
bath
room was luxurious, with separate
bath
and shower areas, bidet, and excellent soaps/amenities.

I`d probably go so far as 5 stars, but for a couple complaints regarding the
bath
room -- we apparently were put in the handicap-accessible room (which is fine), but there was no way to prop open the
bath
room door (it was on a strong springed hinge -- how do people in wheelchairs even manage?), and the
bath
vent fan wasn`t working.

The plumbing is ancient - if a room above or near has a
bath
you can hear them turn off the taps, the rooms look tired and dowdy, and the hotel is more geared up for weddings - of which there were two the weekend we stayed than for travellers.

I assume that when the hotel opened in 1913, this was two tiny rooms with a shared
bath
.

The
bath
was in very bad shape.
"The gold in the entrance clearly hides a very poor service and bad rooms. "
