1. Ready access to Union Square shopping, and some lovely little cafes down the street for meals if you want to eat out of the hotel proper.

4. Overall, I'd highly recommend this hotel when staying in San Fran, but be prepared for a fair walk down what felt like a vertical street to get to the city centre.

7. We found some great restaurants in Nob Hill as well: the nearby Nob Hill Cafe and a number along Hyde Street - definitely better than the tourist traps at Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf.

9. This hotel was close to many of the different neighborhoods and was on a corner where 2 street car (trolley car) lines intersected - very convenient.
