1. Staff friendly with no sign of a charge for early check-in, for which I was thankful.

2. We arrived early and there was no room available for us yet, but the guy from the reception was kind to us, and free of charge he upgraded us to a King room.

3. Beer, wine and mixed drinks were at extra charge, but the hors d'ouvres and soft drinks, coffee, etc. were all complimentary with our Executive floor rooms.

4. We used the wi-fi in the lobby, but the in room wifi had a charge, which I consider a huge ripoff.

5. Why is it that Hilton's Embassy Suites can provide free wi-fi and free use of a compute in their business center, but the other Hilton's like this charge you a small fortune.

6. The Palmer House offers that - with a great lobby, two nice lounges (yes, they can get loud, but they are nice) and a very good health club (unfortunately, they charge you for this, even if you are HHonors Elite, which is very annoying).

7. For completeness I would say we maganaged to extract $200 credit for the restaraunt but with a $36 cover charge for a party of six, six soups and burgers came to $260!not enough really for the inconvenience caused.

8. A further visit to the reception to confront Sean and his manager Fayth managed to get a concesion on the charge but the whole experience left a very bitter taste and complete ruined the Chicago leg of our trip which was supposed to be the big treat.

9. Immediately called the management of Lockwood, whom promised to refund the fraudulent charge and take care of the problem with waiter.

After 6 weeks with much work and aggrevation ie faxing documents, writing emails, making phone calls, contacting charge card company, being insulted by Palmer House's management whom never followed through until forced by corporate, or really sincerely cared that their customers are being robbed, we received a refund.
