1. the rooms were roomy, the classic decor for the hotel, but nice and clean and didnt smell old.

2. The decor was good, although a little dated in the bathroom.

3. The decor and feel is kind of a throw back to early 20th century New York and Eddie the bartender at the lobby bar had a great sense of humor and took good care of us.
"Old New York Charm in a great location --- great bed and good value " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/17/2010 Vote
4. Generally the decor in the room was a bit tired, the carpets were warn, tiles in the bathroom were cracked, the shower was dated and strictly average etc. On the plus side, the room had a good bed and a new big flat screen TV as well, and had a great view up Madison Avenue (although this tended to be noisey at night - no real complaints about that though, its not like we expected silence!)The $15 a day Internet wasn't working 'in that room at this time' and so went to the coffe shop across the street for free access - not sure how I would have felt if this had been a business trip and I was relying on internet avaliability.
"Appears to be dining out on its great location " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/8/2010 Vote

9. The lobby is amazing with the old but classic decor and the rooms where adiquant for my needs, although a tiny bit small, we only sleep in the room on the nights and the rest of the time was dedicated to shopping, broadway shows and discovering new york.
