1. Penn station was within walking distance too but 14 blocks is pretty far with all your luggage, better to take subway 1 to 50th street and walk over to the hotel from there.

3. Fast food (McDonalds) is close, as well as a nice 'hole in the wall deli (47th Street deli) around the corner, and a Pret a Manger at 47th and 6th Avenue.

4. The location is great (just across the street from the half price Broadway ticket booth) with many restaurants theaters and attractions within easy walking distance.

5. There are a wide range of restaurants around, from all the touristy brand names in Times Square to some very nice choices (small steakhouses, Italian, Spanish etc.) on 46th street between 8th and 9th avenues.

10. One of our best hotel experiences to date - surprisingly quiet, not one noise from either the hallway nor the street (we were 2 floors from the top, away from elevators), no banging doors heard early morning.
