8. the view was incredible the new york skyline we had was facing the hudson river and battery park area and from 50 floors up you get a real feel of what makes new york special, what wasnt special however was the mini bar policy, see i like to just have a look as it were see whats there if your peckish or thirsty one night, so i took a few items out just to look, what i didnt see was the tiny not enclosed stating you will automatically be charged once you take anything out, i straight away called down to correct this and to be fair they did this almost instantly, but i feel its a sneeky ploy that they should be more aware of letting people know when they check in, we didnt stay too much in the hotel other than to sleep, so i cant really comment on room service and food, but was was dissapointing was, after a long walk around one evening we were thirsty and needed a few water bottles to bring up to our rooms, we went straight to the small meeting bar down in the lobby but we were charged 5.50 dollars each for a normal bottle, considering we were paying guests at the hotel this seemed very steep, they should have had a discount for people who can provide key cards, the rooms were clean but not spotless, there wasnt a main light in the bedroom, it was all smaller bedside style lights so if your wanting to do work this could become a big problem, we were upgraded to the junior suite and it was a nice big open space, two giant tvs good value for money in my opinion, straight outside the hotel is the subway for the r line which will take you uptown to the main sightseeing parts or within walking distance at least, dont underestimate how big new york is, walking from one part to another can easily take a 30 minute chunk out of your day, get the metrocard 7 day unlimited travel if you want to travel on buses or subway with out worry of money running out on the card.
