2. On the whole, I slept well at the Lucerne, with the exception of Friday night, when the sports bar across the street (Bourbon St, I think) was very noisy with music and people late into the early hours.

8. Both Amsterdam and 79th are busy streets, and there are some bars and restaurants on Amsterdam that generate some noise.

9. The hotel gives a 15% discount on breakfast at Nice Matin, the bar/ restaurant next door but we preferred the diners nearby on Broadwayfor the real new york experience.
