1. Staten Island ferry is free and gives the best view of the Manhattan skyline on the return trip and I can heartily recommend Jamesons Irish bar on 3rd Avenue (10 mins walk from the hotel) for a nice pint of Brooklyn lager.

5. The bath was all white and black tile with tons of extra touches and amenities -- the shower rod was curved for more space, the shelves above the sink were stocked with two different Bath & Body Works scented products, the entire line of coconut-lime-verbena shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/lotion/soap, and a bar of warm vanilla sugar soap, plus makeup remover towelettes among other items.

9. Although there are no bars, restaurants, or fancy lobbies here, I can't imagine a better choice of accommodations in Manhattan, especially for families.

10. Supermarket close by, great restaurants and bars (W Hotel on the corner and Waldorf Astoria around the block and we found a brilliant cheap asian restaurant just up 145th towards Time Square on left hand side).
