1. There is a bar overlooking the ocean with Hawaiian music some evenings, nice gardens, ocean views, hammocks, archaeological sites and, best of all, rock pools where sea turtles swim.

2. Slept with the door open and listened to the waves crashing - perfect white noise:)The bar is also a great place to watch the world go by, lovely ocean views, and some wonderful Hawaiian entertainment and cocktails.

The good part: Great views, great price on Expedia for an ocean view room, beautiful grounds, full (eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, etc) free breakfast, next door to a good farmer's market/craft fair on Wed, next door to Kahalu'u snorkeling, hotel outdoor bar with sunset views, adjacent to historical grounds.
