1. We checked in late and the night manager who checked us in was very helpful and tried to get us the best room/view she could.

3. The front desk manager Roberto was less than accommodating when we inquired about the amenities we are used to receiving, as diamond Hilton honors members, such as the use of the concierges lounge and breakfast.

4. I read the managers response to an earlier post and I don't buy the reasoning for them having valet parking.

5. The hotel was very accommodating and worked with us to arrange the one night stay- they were technically 'sold out' but when we appealed to their soft spots the manager 'checked' and did find us a room for about $540 for the night.

6. The guest services manager didn't seem surprised by our complaint (apparently there were many others) and they comped us a 1000 resort credit.

7. The next day, an operating manager called my husband, a Hilton Gold VIP member, and told him that the reason there were no signs where we sat down was because he had already spent $10,000 this year in signage and there was no more money in the budget for signs.

In response to my inquiry whether, after spending $3000 for two days it was reasonable for me to expect at least one chair for our party of six, the manager said, no, It was unreasonable: that the hotel couldn't possibly provide chairs for all the guests who wanted them; that, in fact, the hotel did not want to charge for chairs, but was 'forced to' in order to accomodate the wishes and demands of those guests who 'really wanted' chairs.

I expected no upgrade, but we were upgraded to Napua Tower; I expected no HHonors 'perks' but was immediately recognized as a Diamond member, given $25 certificate for use at Molokini Bistro, and 20% discount certificate for the spa - as well, as a welcoming letter from the manager (which said, by the way 'If you're Diamond or Gold, and we haven't been able to give you a free upgrade, you will be given other options and additional HHonors points.
