1. This place is essentially a desert island -- there is nothing else within walking distance -- so you are dependent on the one small restaurant, room service, and the swanky bar.

2. If you like being able to walk to restaurants and shops, I would stay closer to South Beach as there really wasn't anything but hotels near the Eden Roc so you are kind of at the mercy of their inflated prices or else a $10 cab ride.

3. The hotel is on the beach, so only a 1 minute walk to the beautiful broadwalk area, for a stroll along the front.

4. I would've liked to be able to walk there more easily, but the boardwalk comes down to the Eden Roc, and it's a beautiful walk.

The taxi doors were opened for us and we were greeted by the nicest bells boys and THEN we entered OMG!the smell, I am still on the hunt for the smell of Orchids that captivates you from the second you walk into the beautiful white loft style entrance adorned with beautiful orchids and gorgeous chandelier.

8. Breakfast is a little expensive so we walked to the nearest Walgreens (at 41st just over the bridge, about a 10min walk) and bought fresh fruit and danishes for breakfast.
