1. We also ate dinner one night at a restaurant within walking distance called Infigos.

2. There are a few cons to take into consideration if it's your first time and you have a particular type of vacation in mind: 1) the food is extremely expensive (like $18 for chips and salsa at the pool) and there are very few nice restaurants close to the resort and none within walking distance; 2) the resort is very secluded and is about 45 minutes from Poipu, where many other resorts and restaurants are; 3) the beach is very small and the view of the water is better than the actual swimming in the ocean in front of the resort.

3. However, I actually enjoyed having a large terrace to sit out on, and the convenience of being able to walk right out to the pool and beach.

8. Cons - price of rooms and food, cost of incidentals, almost no balconies in the entire hotel (except first floor where beach views are often blocked by vegetation, but might be good for families with kids), a feeling of being kept insulated from outdoors and sometimes a workout of a walk just to get outside to the beach.
"Pricey, needs renovation, but what views! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/13/2007 Vote
9. Also, visit Queen's Bath (about a mile from the hotel) and Hideaways beach (a 5-minute walk).

10. Regis is perched above the East side of Hanalei Bay and its opulence is apparent when you walk into the lobby and experience the wall of glass overlooking the Bay.
