1. Yes, internet has a charge (doesn't every expensive hotel?) but if you connect to wireless in the lobby (requires name and room number), then the connection works for two hours even when you return to your room.

2. You give out free water and other silly things that nobody cares about like horrible q-tips but need to charge $15-$20 a day for a network and internet that you already utilize for your own internal purposes.

The champagne ritual was run by concierge staff and had not even one free glass to toast or any appetizer samples - compare this with the Punta Mita, where the manager himself ran the event, and there was generous free champagne and even a couple of rounds of very nice appetizers, all at no charge.
