1. One of the waitresses at the bar overheard the conversation and could see I was having some difficulty with Mike, so she helped me select the right champagne, I ordered through her and went back out to the balcony to see the tail end of the sunset.

6. We enjoyed a few of the amenities at the hotel, the pool bar was wonderful, as was the Lobby Bar and the food at the Makana Terrace restaurant (service was slow and forgetful, which is probably the only complaint we had while we were here).

7. I recommend trying Kauai Grill, then venturing off to local restaurants; we liked Bar Acuda and Mediterranean Gourmet.

10. We didnt have a lanai, but the windows opened completely, and it had a window seat, so it was just as good - we were happy to spend time by the pool, and reading on the big covered patio by the bar.
