4. For those of us who wonder whether our lives truly are enhanced by an artificial waterfall or a human door opener the Renoir is a nearly perfect, quiet, pleasant and reasonable place to set up base camp for an exploration of a great town.

5. There are groups of rough looking ppl who stand around on the st corners, you dont feel scared walking around there during the day as they are a lot of ppl walking by and cops there quite often but its just not pleasant to look at.

7. Since the room was so terrible and Although we already paid $450 (plus tax), we had no choice but to search another hotel, and indeed very soon we found an excellent hotel not very far away from the Renoir hotel in a calm and pleasant environment.

9. The biggest benefit by far, though is that despite the bad area in which the hotel is located, it is still only ten to fifteen minutes walk down Market St to the infinitely more pleasant areas of Union Square, the waterfront and the Financial District.

10. There are some bonuses, however: the hotel is affordable, and although the decor is a little aged and gloomy, coming in from the street is like stepping into a cool, pleasant oasis.
