1. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful and the location is good very close to Union Square so easy to get around, however outside the hotel front there were a lot of homeless people around, harmless enough but not what you always want.

5. To me, the Clift is like dating a bipolar person - sometimes the rooms are absolutely beautiful and clean and the staff is helpful and personable - other times, the rooms are mediocre at best and the entire staff seems to be suffering from a hangover.

6. Upon arrival, it was evident that the staff could not do enough to help; everyone from the doormen to the concierge to the reception staff were welcoming, friendly and consitantly willing to help out in any way they could.
