1. They make you feel welcome without the obnoxious 'my pleasure' comment which means virtually nothing these days.

7. Despite the fact that one's first impression might be sketchy, after being welcomed to Skid Row by the locals, the Monaco is well situated just two blocks from Union Square, some of the world's best shopping, theaters and terrific restaurants.
