2. Room service was great, and I love the boutique-y details (pet-friendly, that you can have a goldfish delivered to your room to keep you company, the jazz music playing when I arrived in my room, the wine in the evenings).

I guess it should be noted that the people-watching is pretty entertaining in that neighborhood given the interesting mix of SF 'characters' and yuppies--my friend who lives in SF refers to the neighborhood as the 'TenderNob' and it really is right on the border between the swanky Nob Hill neighborhood and the down-at-the-heels Tenderloin.
