3. Pros: good central location; large rooms for a central NYC hotel; essential amenities in room (ironing board, fridge, hairdryer); speedy housekeeping response; delis/cafes nearby for breakfastCons: dreary facade and minuscule check-in area -- you almost don't think you are in a hotel; adjacent buildings under scaffolding; only two elevators (plus service elevator that a member of staff encouraged me to use); no coffee/tea making option in bedroom or even on floor; excessive use of poorly applied gray paint creates institutional feel rather than the stylish look they were probably aiming for; elevator lobby area and inside of elevators need refreshing; no TV guide in room or via cable and poor reception; awkward layout of seating furniture and tables in room; paper cups rather than glasses in bedroom/bathroom -- all of the above are relatively minor complaints, but their cumulative effect made for a lackluster hotel stay.
