1. The bar is swanky and fun - the kind of place you wouldn't be surprised to see a celebrity or politician in the corner (not that we did).

3. The public spaces are fun and the staff are very nice and attentive, but the rooms are tiny (like most old hotels) and are very much in need of renovation.

4. The best parts of the hotel are the unique decor of the lobby, the classy chairs and sofas in the lounge area, and the fun New Yorker cartoons on the wallpaper.

5. The lobby bar is just fun to 'sit and sip' while you 'people watch'--the drinks are a bit pricey ($24 for a nice martini) and the rooms are rather small, but hey--it's NYC.
