1. After making a reservation through Travelocity a month prior to my arrival, I walked in the Algonquin only to be greeted by a smiling desk clerk happily telling me that we had no room as construction was taking place.

7. If I had to give it some constructive criticism, the elevators were small and slow - but this really isn't too important.

8. The window air conditioner was so noisy, the noise from construction so loud and the lights from the street so bright that it made sleeping next to impossible despite a comfortable bed and lovely linens.

9. My advice is to call the hotel before booking and ask them if the construction is still going on.

10. My only complaint was the construction going on about 10 feet from our window (we were at the back of the hotel)on another building.
