3. As I am Marriott Gold, I received coupons for a free continental breakfast which was lovely, fruit, juice, tea, pastries - just perfect.

The staff are excellent, the lobby is lovely however the regular rooms (I am sure the suites are much better) were 'just basic' bed was good, room was clean but the room was so small (and we have travelled Europe extensively and this is the smallest room we have ever had) the bathroom was tiny and old, they do have free coffee in the lobby BUT no coffee maker in the room, no bar fridge in the room and you need to get ice from room service.

6. The Algonquin offers free coffee/tea to it's guests on the 2nd floor 24 hours a day via a single serve Tassimo (or something similar) machine, this was great in the morning when I was up early and needed to catch a train.

7. We stayed in a standard room, two single beds, free wifi, two bath robes, nice bathroom, TV, ipod docking station, etc.

The coffee station of the second floor was handy, on one occasion we happened to be grabbing a cup when one of the staff was incredibly sweet to us, he was clearing up from a meeting and insisted on getting us larger cups from the kitchen than the ones provided pouring us Starbucks coffee and giving us free range to the big trays of cookies that were left.
