3. There are plenty of great cafes and diners just around the corner, There's also a working fire station right around the corner and trucks make some serious noise when they leave the station, it didn't bother us at all but if you're a light sleeper this may not be the place for you.

7. It took me & my daughter 15 minutes to walk from the hotel on 48th to the Empire State Building on 34th St, and roughly 15 minutes to Columbus Circle & Central Park straight up 8th Ave, although there are plenty of cabs should you not wish to walk everywhere.
