6. Finally, the service was great from some staff (one arranged for my luggage to be brought downstairs by another elevator, which was really helpful) and awful from others (I was chewed out by one rude staff member for asking politely if the lobby elevators would be back in operation that day).

I'm not a fan of third party websites, I work in the industry and figure "why give money to a third party when I can probably get the same rate or a lower rate booking directly?" so I called the hotel and tried to set up a reservation directly, the person on the phone was beyond curt, she was borderline rude all she said was "Book on our website and that's what we have sir, I cannot make a reservation for you" ooooooook, I was tempted to book at a different location but figured maybe someone was having a bad day.

10. This turn of events seemed totally beyond the ability of the check-in staff to deal with, and they were officious and rude to boot --- at one point making us sit down because 'they didn`t like our attitude'.
