1. I took it in stride and went up to my newly renovated room where, oddly, the entire room smelled musty and moldy.

2. I'm most upset because, judging from the hotel's response to my 2 complaints, they know that they have a dampness/mold problem and they are allowing it to adversely affect their unsuspecting guests.

3. In retrospect, I should have changed hotels, but I didn't realize how badly the dampness and mold would affect my respiratory system -- and it never occurred to me that a room on the 25th floor in a major downtown hotel, would have a dampness/mold problem.

4. Clearly, this is an ongoing problem and we now realize the room spray was to cover up a musty odor from mold.

8. But, mold in the shower stall of a per night room? On the upside, one very cool in-room feature was a small window that could be opened; something you rarely get in highrise hotels.

9. However, the room, despite a fantastic view of back bay, had mold in the shower, cracks and waterspots in and on the ceiling, loads of marks on the walls, chairs that had suspicious stains on them, and carpet that literally looked embedded with grime.
