Yes, I know the Whitcomb is historic, but to me it feels terribly dated and is
unfortunate
to be situated in 'drop-out' alley given the large numbers of homeless, beggars and decidedly suspicious looking characters loitering outside.

The rooms division manager and operations manager were both very friendly and accommodating but moving one from a dirty room to the next dirty room does
unfortunate
ly not solve the real problem does it? Really? The entire experience is a sad one.

I was staying in the hotel on a business trip and
unfortunate
ly the hotel was already pre-booked and paid for a conference or I would have moved to a different hotel.

unfortunate
ly our business trip this year was canceled to San Francisco but if i were to vacation in the Bay Area, i would definitely stay and have already recommended The Whitcomb after having experienced not only the old Charm of the building itself but of the wonderful staff.
