2. We had mentioned before travelling that we were celebrating 60th & 40th birthdays and were given a tiny gold box of 2 chocolates with a picture of the hotel on the front, which was a nice gesture.

Good points:- Good location- Pay a bit extra and get a room with a view of the Empire State (well worth it)- Next to the excellent Tick Tock Diner (although a bit pricey)- Lifts quite quick- Bedrooms nicely decoratedBad points:- tiny room (kind of to be expected because of the location)- No in room coffee maker/kettle- No in room fridge- No in room safe.

6. Our room pretty much consisted of the bed and a tiny desk with a tv.

7. The only thing that surprised me was that the room was tiny and they were not newly renovated-we got the Metro 1-Queen room which from the pictures looked liked they were newly renovated and bigger.
