1. As people have pointed out, the rooms are tiny, with little more room than the beds and wash-stand, but the lack of room wasn't really an issue.

2. Yes, the room was tiny, I did not have a sink and it got hot at times (I turned on the AC for a while), but for a secure place to stay it fit the bill.

3. I would though call the hotel directly before booking to request a room with a sink (worth paying a tiny bit more to maybe have that one perk :)).

5. This was my first trip to NYC and though, admittedly, I was a tiny bit nervous about staying in the city alone and about an unwanted encounter with bed bugs, I felt safe in this neighbourhood and it gave me a flavour of what living in this city - bed bug free.

7. True, the wallpaper looks tired, the radiator knocks and pings a bit, the one elevator is tiny and slow, the lobby at bit dark, the rooms smallish - but this bothered us not one bit.
