1. We took the top floor suite on 12 next to the rooftop patio and thus my only (minor) complaint was that the staff made some noise cleaning up on Saturday evening (but to their credit, did immediately stop after I asked them to).

3. Rooms can be noisy regardless of what floor you're on and we've been on several but this is New York and those canyons just amplify any noise; nonetheless better windows would help.

4. Downsides are the relatively poor noise insulation of at least my room and the basement level hotel restaurant which is not exactly a cosy place for single travelers who would be better advised to seek other options in the area or order room service.

10. I really liked this hotel, the location was great to walk to nearby attractions and it was just off the busy streets so not too much noise.
