1. Try to avoid the rooms facing Park Avenue South - very loud in evening and early in the morning.

2. It was very loud the first night due to an event, I asked for a new room the next morning and we were upgraded to a beautiful suite on the 10th floor with a view of Park and 28th.

6. By the third night I finally found a way to drown out the street noise - I turned on the A/C in the room which makes a pretty loud humming noise and turned my iPod on to some soothing music (all rooms have iHome docks for your iPod).

8. Within a very short time of getting to my room, I heard a very loud slamming/cranking sound from the street.

9. And there is a subway station only 2 blocks away (5 mins walk max)When booking I asked for a high floor and this was granted, I would recommend trying to get a high room in any New York hotel as street noise is very loud.
