1. The staff was friendly and competent, although we did have one day of poor housekeeping, This was promptly corrected when it was pointed out to the hotel.

4. Beautiful property, ok rooms with lighting so poor it is impossible to read or play games and wondful, helpful friendly staff.

Cons: Far off the beaten track (maybe that is a plus), expensive, often rainy (it's in the mountains) LIMITED BAY ACCESS (ESPECIALLY IN THE WINTER WHEN NORTH SHORES ARE BATTERED BY THE WINDS) and in our case, relatively poor repsonse by management when our car was broken into (back window smashed by a vandal) and our GPS stolen.

6. The only other place where I've experienced such rules was in Communist Cuba, where service and amenities are poor.

8. I would have been disappointed by the poor level of service at this Westin even if we were vacationing in a different spot, but when compared with all the other wonderful people on Kauai this Westin is a complete failure.

9. Most importantly, much of the staff there looked unhappy, which was rather surprising as even with poor service facilities the staff at least acts like they want to be there.

10. Housekeeping would show up between 3:30 and 4:30 to make up your room and then do a poor job.
